
Matteo Macchioni
Matteo Macchioni was born in Sassuolo (Modena) , and he has been studying music since he was a child. In 2005 he graduates with 1st level degree in pianoforte, at the Achille Peri Conservatory in Reggio Emilia. In October 2007 he gets his Master's degree with honours after a two-year training of pianoforte under the guidance of Maestro Charlotte Lootgieter. In addition he participates in higher education pianoforte courses held by the duo Ennio Pastorino - An Li Pang in 2000,2001, and 2002. In 2006 he obtaines a qualification as a music typist on the "Sibelius" music notation software. Matteo studies opera singing with Maestro Claude Thiolas. During the studying years he carries out an intense concert activity as a tenor, a piano soloist, a pianoforte accompanist, with the favour of the critics. Matteo has been the youngest Tenor ever to get to the final round at "Pavarotti international voice competition" 2008. An international singing contest where 50 lyrical voices coming from 24 countries around the world competed. During that event the Tenor Carlo Bergonzi gave him his appraisal and encouragement. In 2010 Matteo takes part in the famous Italian TV talent show "Amici" (similar to American Idol) where he stands out for his extraordinary and versatile voice. Caterina Caselli Sugar decides to invest and believe in a new opera/pop project. In the spring of 2010 Matteo signs with Sugar and starts working on his first recording project. In June 2010 Matteo makes his opera debut at "Teatro Giuseppe Verdi" of Salerno as Nemorino in "Elisir D'amore" of Gaetano Donizetti, under the conduction of the Israeli Maestro Daniel Oren. The event is sold-out and receives positive reviews by media and critics. On the 25th Jan 2011 Sugar releases "D'altro Canto", Matteo's first record, which is given great reviews by the press and which includes remarkable artistic collaborations: Pacifico, Francesco Tricarico, Francesco Sartori (composer of the hit "Time to say goodbye"), Danijel Vuletic, Vince Mendoza, Giuseppe Vessicchio, Marco Sabiu, Fabio Properzi, Paolo Buonvino, Pierdavide Carone, Ferdinando Arnò.
