David Elias & XING
Recorded, mixed and mastered in the ultra high HD audio resolution of Direct Stream Digital (DSD), 64 times higher resolution of CD quality 16/44.1k PCM. Available as a DSD 1-bit/2.8mHz or FLAC 24/88.2kHz master at www.davidelias.com
(see Acoustic Trio: DSD Sessions for complete master.)
Following in the footsteps of The Great Unknown ("Half an Hour Away") 4 years prior, David performed regularly in 2004/2005 as XING (pronounced Crossing), a crack trio featuring upright bass (Chris Kee - Houston/Jones, Waybacks) and backing acoustic/vocal (Charlie Natzke - Slipperworld).
A live studio recording encouraged by affiliates of Apple iTunes for a webcast (later called podcasts) was accomplished in a single day at the hearlded remote Slipperword Studios amongst the redwoods in La Honda, California. David, Chris and Charlie stood in a small circle with just a few microphones and played with the windows open. A HD multitrack recording was made of the session using a Sonoma workstation from SuperAudioCenter.com. N
