BIO:
"Epic - The Iron Philharmonic" (AKA "Epic TIP") is the result of the collaborative efforts of pianist/guitarist Ed Pszeniczka (piz-en-icka) and drummer/percussionist Jay Jurcenko. They found a mutual interest in intricately arranged, progressive rock, as well as time defiant, classical, piano oriented compositions. They agreed that dramatic common ground exists for both of these musical genres, and that their music should seek to co-mingle the two, and capture that drama.
Skillfully written, arranged, and produced, this 26 minute EP has the feel of a timeless classic. As the band name implies, the instrumentals have the feel of a big production. However, no computer driven sequencing or programmed music was used to accomplish this. The music is not a self serving exercise in musicianship, as many instrumental albums are. It's simply "good music", with a finely orchestrated delivery and loaded with driving power. As a final touch to the music, soaring lead guitar solos were added by guitarist Charles Mulvey. The critically acclaimed, relentless 11 minute work "Voice of the Theatre" is classically beautiful, yet potently powerful, and is a fine example of the style and energy of Epic - The Iron Philharmonic.
