On The Corner of Happy and Stone
“On The Corner of Happy and Stone” was recorded in 1998 with the musical and financial assistance of Jack Shaw. Jack plays harmonica, mandolin and the mouth harp all over the CD and without his help this recording would not have happened. All songs are written by Andy Mason except “Meet Me in The Dark” which was written by Joshua Belter and is the song that gets a makeover on Fast Time Constant’s 2004 release “For Lease” (available on CD Baby). Happy and Stone reflects Andy’s mood during the writing of the songs. Happy, and yet stifled, from really achieving what he wants in life. I felt at the time, and in many ways still do, that there is so much more to be accomplished in this life. The cover photography is interesting in that when I was taking the picture of the street sign (an actual street corner in Clovis, NM) I was standing on my Volvo and caught my own shadow in the photo.
