From 2000 – 2002, Lamont established himself as a successful songwriter and recording artist as the front man and main creative force for Ten Shekel Shirt. With over 130,000 units sold and a #1 hit - Ocean, Lamont’s music career was off to a great start.

The Abolitionist
In the fall of 2002, Lamont set aside his music career as his main focus in order to launch Justice for Children International. As the Co-Founder and Executive Director, Lamont helped pioneer and develop JFCI’s programs. Lamont had been speaking out against child trafficking and slavery for other organizations but after hearing that more child slaves could be rescued if there were additional safehomes and caregivers, Lamont felt compelled to work at a more practical level. Now, with offices in South East Asia, the UK and the USA, Justice for Children International is an effective organization expanding aftercare facilities, training trauma counselors and funding grassroots prevention and advocacy ser
