THE SYSTEM –
The Electro - Soul Pioneering 80’s Duo - The System - return with highly anticipated double fisted releases. The futuristic space funk of “Motha Ungh Ungh” R&B & Urban Radio Play and the dance floor dub step lyrical gospel of “The Toast” for Dance & Pop Radio Play from the forthcoming album System Overload which will be released in Fall 2012 on Science Lab Records.

Havelock Nelson writes: "New System material just arrived from Mic Murphy... First joint, "Motha," is booming and barebones, just like the Frank/Murphy joints that soared up the charts and made knowing necks happy so many years ago."
Pharrell Williams N.E.R.D. in Washington Post :He's mesmerized by "Don't Disturb This Groove," by the System. "The beat's crazy," "That record right there," Williams says, again shaking his head as "Groove" winds down. "Shee-eeesh."
The pioneering synth duo The System, comprised of lead singer Mic Murphy and keyboardist David Frank, rode the '80s wave of emerging synth/MIDI music technology to help lay the foundation for contemporary electronic popular music with their upfront, unapologetic use of synths and intelligent songwriting.
Their revolutionary single "You Are in My System" helped to usher in a new era of electronically based pop music, leading to the release of their debut record Sweat in 1983. Following the release of X-Periment in 1984 and The Pleasure Seekers in 1985, the title track of their album Don't Disturb This Groove went to number one R&B and number three pop in 1987.
The group went on to release Rhythm & Romance in 1989, ESP in 2000, and Unreleased Unleashed on the band's own Science Lab Records in 2009.
The System can be heard on Phil Collins' "Sussudio," Chaka Khan's "I Feel for You" along with its follow-up "This Is My Night," Scritti Politti's Cupid & Psyche 85, Mtume's "Juicy Fruit," the latter of which was later used by the Notorious B.I.G. for his gold record "Juicy." The System contributed tracks to two Eddie Murphy movie blockbusters, Beverly Hills Cop and Coming to America, the title track of which went to number 23 R&B in summer 1988. They also served as producers on tracks by Angela Bofill, Pauli Carmen, Evelyn "Champagne" King, Ashford and Simpson, Jeff Lorber, Gavin Christopher, Howard Johnson, and former Labelle member Nona Hendryx.
