When Neil Young came to L.A. from Canada he heard about a band from Topanga Canyon called "The Rockets". He recruited 3 of the 6 members and called them "Crazy Horse". The Rockets' short lived fame was squelched and Neil admitted his role in his song "Requiem for the Rockets" (After the Gold Rush). This second album "Lift Off" features songs of Danny Whitten, George and Leon Whitsell and Pete Charles. Ranging from old school blues to "far out" psychedelic rock--the original "garage/grunge" band has risen from the abyss- "Lift Off"!
