Gather ‘round and listen as the storyteller Moudry, the Wise, tells four Christmas Stories set in the Middle Ages in Central Europe. These are Christmas events which weave in and out the lives of Vojta, the court magician and the faith of Leos, his lame apprentice; Lady Emma, the wife of Sir Vit who suffered an accident while visiting his people during the Christmas holydays; Brother Ondrej, an elderly Monk-Friend of Sir Marek, who is dying in his hermitage on his last Christmas and the tale of Sir Marek’s mentor, Tendrak, a dragon who could easily have lived at the time of Christ. None of the people involved would claim that these were more than personal bona fide miraculous happenings in their lives but their telling does leave the listen to wonder, as it did to the people in the stories.
As Moudry re-tells the original Christmas Story in his own words, fleshing out some of the bare bones which includes how he thinks things may have been, the re-telling might be able to give us a better understanding
