Mega Trife
Great MC/Producer combos are seemingly few and far between, yet, when they happen, game changing music is created. Like Pete Rock & CL Smooth, the Soulquarians, and Eric B. & Rakim, artists Mega Trife and Nonsense are a pair who have taken a look backward in order to move forward. Their sound hearkens back to the hip-hop production of the early and mid-90s while still able to retain a fresh sound. The samples used in the production, especially in the track "That Jazz", allude to the days of Low End Theory, which was in itself a look back toward 1980's hip-hop. Anything You Heard About (feat. Termanology) is the lead single off the upcoming Mega Trife & Nonsense album Full Circle Grizzlies (feat. M.O.P.) is the second single The album is the follow up to the unreleased 2008 album Proof of Life which is now being made available as a free download. Mega Trife is from Brockton, MA while Nonsense hails from Orlando, FL The MC/Producer combo hooked up in 2000 while networking on the website mp3.com. Over the next few years Mega Trife recorded many songs over Nonsense production. The two noticed an undeniable musical chemistry and from there decided to collaborate on a full length project which came to fruition with Proof of Life. Mega Trife comes from the mold of lyrical MC's such as O.C., Black Thought and Justus League affiliate Median while Nonsense uses sample based production recreating that golden era sound notable from producers like DJ Premier, 9th Wonder and The Alchemist.
