Wu Raised Me
"Born in '89 but I'll be 36 forever" is what the 26-year old to date lyricist says on the smooth, melodic-vibe song '36 Forever'. It is true, heavily influenced by the hard-hitting, speaker-slashing sounds of the super rap phenomenon group Wu-Tang Clan, E Jake chose the title Wu Raised Me to display his appreciation of the group; skills on the mic; and honor of the culture by carrying on the tradition of lyrical content, unique style, and underlining ambiguity throughout the entire production. Assisted by the turntable scratches and voiceover narration by the world-renowned DJ Statik Selektah, E Jake proudly brings back the 90s-era mixtape sound and style with this 80 minute composition. The first 11-tracks of the album are recorded over various Wu-Tang & Wu member instrumentals while the following 15-tracks are original productions, including the jazzy-sampled track 'AA Meetings' produced by the album host himself, Statik Selektah. Hailing from Massachusetts, E Jake is accompanied by fellow label mate Jay Bo
