Gary Oakes began his career in professional theater when he was chosen by Richard Rodgers for a featured role in the New York revival of the Rodgers and Hart Musical
"The Boys From Syracuse." He later performed the role of Richard Henry Lee in the national and Broadway companies of the Tony Award winning musical "1776." He appeared in the off-Boadway production of "Shoemakers'Holiday" and in the pre-Broadway tour of the Richard Maltby and David Shire musical "Love Match" He was featured opposite Bernadette Peters in the musical "W.C." starring Mickey Rooney and sang a principal role in the American premiere of the London Musical,"Chrysanthemum." His many musical comedy credits include leading roles in "My Fair Lady,"with Douglas Fairbanks Jr., "Oklahoma," with Betty Buckley, "Promises,Promises" with Joanna Gleason and "The Pajama Game" with Soupy Sales. His TV appearances included a regular starring role in the NBC syndicated sitcom "Please Stand By."
Cuban born Lou Garcia, while an enlistee in the U
